[no subject]

Something else I find strange. IMHO: I think only the original author or company should be
able to claim IP. Just because you bought the copyrights and patents doesn't mean you
invented the transistor. Just means you own it.

Yet, Something else. When one company or organization owns or controls the development of
ANYTHING, I believe that slows down development. It may even stop it. If we were to stop
and think about it. How many apps are actually being developed on Unix now days compared
to the past. If Linux wasn't around would Unix even stand a chance?

Did I just write part of my letter?

&gt; In short: SCO has sent a letter espousing their &quot;Linux is unAmerican and
&gt; illegal&quot; position to the 535 members of Congress. A copy of the letter can
&gt; be found here:
&gt; <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.osaia.org/letters/sco_hill.pdf";>http://www.osaia.org/letters/sco_hill.pdf</a>
&gt; Here's the problem: Congresscritters may not know that each and every point
&gt; in the letter is disputable bullshit. Without rebuttal, there is the a chance
&gt; that the idea may somehow get some legs on the hill.
&gt; If you have never written your Congressperson or Senator, now is the time to
&gt; do it. We have to be sure that this insidious lying cancer does not get a
&gt; chance to ruin the freedoms that we have worked so hard for.
