[ale] messed up man

I've screwed up my man setup. If I type "man emacs" or anything else for that
matter, I always get the following error:

groff: couldn't exec troff: Not a directory

I have suse 5.3 which installs groff and troff in /usr/bin. I've checked out
my man path which is:

and all the man directories are still there. Any suggestions? Thanks.
