Okay, rack hole spacing can look a bit odd. Obviously, each rack unit
is approximately 1.75". within each rack unit, you will have either 2
or 3 screw holes (top, bottom, and optionally middle). The gap between
the bottom hole and the top of the next rack unit will be a small gap.
The middle hole will be equidistant between the top and bottom holes
within a rack unit.

Lets see if a diagram makes it more obvious
