What bleach have you tried? I always found undiluted household bleach
much more effective than any "photographic" bleach
(dichromate/sulphuric, etc.), letting it act overnight if necessary.
Gold stains (probably purplish) may not respond. But if the stains are
silver-based you'll need to rinse well and treat with fixer after
bleaching since hypochlorite turns them to silver chloride.

Our bathtub has holes as well as stains. Time to move, I think.

chemical stains in my porcelain bathtub that will not come off with any

amount of bleach..... i make gold-toned argyotypes so the chemical
stains could be from a variety of things......
