Also, chrome alum hardened crosslinks are much weaker than those made
by aldehyde hardeners, so there need to be much more numerous cross
links to get appreciable hardening effect. One problem is that chrome
alum hardened gelatin has reduced diffision compared to aldehyde
hardened gelatin. This is described by Zelikman.
