GEEKS: Geek Humor Mailing List

The Geeks list is no more. These archives are here for amusement purposes.

Geeks was originally an offshoot of the Mob mailing list. The goal was to keep non-geeks on the mob list happy by moving the geeky-discussions onto a separate list. Within a week of the list's announcement to the world at large, the list had over 500 subscribers. At its peak, it had over 1500 participants.

There were growing pains- as more people joined, many threads quickly became "I'm-geekier-than-you" exercises. Eventually the list was moderated and returned to its low-volume, high-content roots.

The list "died" during a move to new mailing list software. I'm currently rebuilding the archives.
