[datacenter] Seal the room for clean agent fire suppression
We are preparing to install a clean agent fire suppression system. In
sealing the room, to of the four walls have sheetrock to the upper deck but
two do not. The cost to sheetrock is around $12,000. As an alternative, it
was suggested by our Facilities director that we bid sealed tiles. That bid
came in just under $5000.
After speaking with our vendor, they are strongly encouraging us to avoid
using sealed ceiling tiles. They cite several cases where they could not
maintain pressure without having the contractor come back on site to repair
leaks.
Has anyone used this alternative method and if so, is there a particular
product we should be considering?
Thanks in advance
David
